Symbolicate .NET runtime frames in Apple platform .ips crash logs (iOS, tvOS, Mac Catalyst, macOS). Extracts UUIDs and addresses from the native backtrace, locates dSYM debug symbols, and runs atos to produce function names with source file and line numbers. Automatically downloads .dwarf symbols from the Microsoft symbol server using Mach-O UUIDs. USE FOR triaging a .NET MAUI or Mono app crash from an .ips file on any Apple platform, resolving native backtrace frames in libcoreclr or libmonosgen-2.0 to .NET runtime source code, retrieving .ips crash logs from a connected iOS device or iPhone, or investigating EXCCRASH, EXCBADACCESS, SIGABRT, or SIGSEGV originating from the .NET runtime. DO NOT USE FOR pure Swift/Objective-C crashes with no .NET components, or Android tombstone files. INVOKES Symbolicate-Crash.ps1 script, atos, dwarfdump, idevicecrashreport.

English

Investigate build failures, test errors, runtime crashes, or unexpected behavior through systematic minimal reproduction, multi-hypothesis testing, and evidence-based verification. Use when asked to "debug", "investigate a failure", "find root cause", "troubleshoot", "fix a failing test", or "diagnose an issue". Always re-run builds and tests after changes.

English

Assists with reproducing and triaging NuGet restore issues. Given a GitHub issue from NuGet/Home, analyzes the issue, extracts repro-relevant data, and writes C tests in the NuGet.Client repo that reproduce the described scenario. Use for NuGet restore bugs, error code investigations, and test authoring tasks.

English

Regenerate Static Web Assets test baselines. USE FOR: fixing "generated manifest should match the expected baseline" errors, updating baseline JSON files after legitimate build output changes, understanding the baseline comparison system.

English

Includes Apple Crash Symbolication, Hypothesis Driven Debugging, Nuget Restore Repro Triage, and other workflows.

DO NOT USE FOR pure Swift/Objective-C crashes with no .NET components, or Android tombstone files. INVOKES Symbolicate-Crash.ps1 script, atos, dwarfdump, idevicecrashreport.

Hypothesis Driven Debugging

Investigate build failures, test errors, runtime crashes, or unexpected behavior through systematic minimal reproduction, multi-hypothesis testing, and evidence-based verification. Use when asked to "debug", "investigate a failure", "find root cause", "troubleshoot", "fix a failing test", or "diagnose an issue". Always re-run builds and tests after changes.

Nuget Restore Repro Triage

Assists with reproducing and triaging NuGet restore issues. Given a GitHub issue from NuGet/Home, analyzes the issue, extracts repro-relevant data, and writes C tests in the NuGet.Client repo that reproduce the described scenario. Use for NuGet restore bugs, error code investigations, and test authoring tasks.

Swa Baseline Regeneration

Regenerate Static Web Assets test baselines. USE FOR: fixing "generated manifest should match the expected baseline" errors, updating baseline JSON files after legitimate build output changes, understanding the baseline comparison system.
