About this skill

Initialize the official task folder and base task memory inside projects/ /active/YYYY-MM-DD /. Creates README.md, TASKSTATE.md, SOURCEOFTRUTH.md, DECISIONS.md, IMPLEMENTATIONPLAN.md; seeds from PROJECTCHARTER.md when present; emits a multi-repo Repositories section in SOURCEOFTRUTH.md when 2+ repos are provided. When a vetted issue-tracker MCP is connected, task-init can also seed the task from a referenced item through a gated, opt-in ingest path, off by default. Use when starting a new task from zero or near-zero, or when no active task folder exists yet for this work item. Do not use when the task folder already exists, when work should resume from existing TASKSTATE.md (use resume-from-state), or when the goal is only to update task memory after progress (use sync-task-state). For a brief with 3 or more independent sub-tasks, use task-init-fleet.
